In collaboration with Behnisch Architekten, STIMSON designed the urban streetscape and landscape for the proposed Law School at the University of Baltimore. Situated on a high-profile site and acting as a gateway to the University, this small urban site poses many challenges. The scope of work includes urban streetscape design, a pedestrian plaza, an entry sequence, a sunken garden, green roofs and an interior atrium garden. The design addresses the issues of microclimate, stormwater management, development of public realm, private garden spaces, visual and acoustic screening, and viewsheds. As an icon for the University, the proposed Law School building will represent green architecture and sustainable site development that will be used as a model for future campus development.
