Micah Stanek, PLA
Media, Communications + Research Director

Micah is a designer, storyteller, teacher, and researcher interested in all the ways we understand and relate to our environments. At STIMSON, he brings a deep sensitivity to social and ecological systems, weaving cultural values and environmental ethics through development, the design process, and the ways we share our work. In collaboration with the STIMSON team, Micah helps embed research at the core of our practice, fostering clarity, consistency, and a direct link to our studio work.

Previously, Micah taught landscape architecture and architecture at Washington University in St. Louis. He pursued a dual Master of Landscape Architecture and Master of Architecture at WashU, and upon graduation, he was named University Olmsted Scholar and received an Architecture Faculty Award.

Gateways to design were his undergraduate film study at Northwestern University and work as a docent and farmhand at Navdanya Biodiversity Conservation Farm in northern India. He also worked at SCAPE Studio in New York City and MU Architecture in Paris.
