Landscape Architect

Sonny was born in Beijing, China, and grew up in Toronto, ON.

Sonny received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cornell University in 2013. He was the recipient of the Charles Goodwin Sands Memorial Silver Medal for The Sublime and the Artifice and the Eidlitz Fellowship for Borderline Encounters. 

He  also pursued graduate studies at Harvard Graduate School of Design, receiving the Master of Architecture II and Master of Landscape Architecture with Distinction in 2018. Upon graduation, Sonny was honored to receive the KPF Paul Katz Fellowship 2018, The Peter Walker and Partners Fellowship for Landscape Architecture 2018 and the Penny White Travel Fund 2018.

Prior to joining Stimson, Sonny served as a critic teaching landscape architecture studios at RISD and practiced as a landscape and architectural designer at firms in Boston, New York City, and else where.

Sonny likes rocks, playing percussions, and post-rock music.
