Babson College
Wellesley, MA
Kerry Murphy Healey Park, a new campus open space, commemorates Babson College’s 100th anniversary and houses the iconic Babson Globe. Commissioned by Roger Babson in the 1950s, this 25-ton, 28-foot diameter globe represents the school’s ethos and global reach. Designed as a social landscape, the park features the globe in a woodland setting adorned with 100 flags representing Babson’s diverse student body. Sweeping berms and perennials create a harmonious balance between the globe’s scale and the natural environment. The park serves as a gathering place for students, fostering casual meetings and social congregation. Kerry Murphy Healey Park embodies Babson’s commitment to global perspectives and cross-cultural exchange. It stands as a symbol of the college’s history and vision, providing a vibrant hub for community engagement and celebrating Babson’s enduring legacy.
