Mingjie Cai received her Masters degree in Landscape Architecture from Rhode Island School of Design, where she won the RI Chapter ASLA Honor Award in 2017 academic year and the University Olmsted Scholar in 2018. In RISD Mingjie mainly focused on the topics of ecological infrastructure, urban revitalization, and had the chance to extend her knowledge outside the design domain into illustration, jewelry and arts. Prior to moving to the US, she has practiced as a landscape designer in China. Based on her diverse and trans-disciplinary experience, her interest addresses the possibility of integrating landscape architecture, urban design and arts to create new public space in urban milieu. Besides the role of landscape designer, she is also a part-time author-illustrator of children’s books.
