Mary has an innate desire to tell stories and build connections between people and the living things around them; a passion which led her to landscape architecture. Mary holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor in Environmental Studies from Colgate University.
Growing up on a farm, and nurtured by a lifelong love for reading and drawing, she has always been held captive by small moments of beauty and wonder. She seeks to create these moments for others through attentive and playful design, believing that moments of joy are meant to be shared. Mary is the recipient of the Bill Millsap Fellowship, and her independent research works to understand how landscape architects can attend to and learn from the place-based knowledge of Indigenous peoples.
